How to Make Sweet Apple Slushie

A detailed recipe with full quantities can be found in the recipe card at the bottom of this page.

Step 1: Get all your ingredients ready – but don’t pull the frozen apple cubes out of the freezer until you’re ready to start.

Step 2: Combine your apple juice cubes, water, and vanilla into the blender. Blend until it achieves a smooth, slushie-like texture.

Step 3: In a bowl, beat the coconut cream, pineapple juice, guava juice, and mango juice together until well-mixed.

Step 4: Fill 6 glasses with your Sweet Apple Slushie mix. Add a dollop of creamy topping. For an extra special delight, add a drizzle of caramel syrup over the cream. Enjoy!

Topping First?

You can reverse the order you make this by preparing the topping first. If you do that, place it in a sealed container in your fridge until ready.

Tweaks

There are a lot of ways to tweak this recipe if you’re so inclined.

  • No Coconut: Want a healthy alternative to coconut cream? Try oat cream, soy cream, or almond cream. All three are excellent!
  • More Coconut: If plain water just doesn’t cut it for you, try coconut water instead. Some people think this overpowers the apple flavor, but I disagree.
  • Caramel: A drizzle of caramel syrup on top of this already delightful drink will put it over the top. Enjoy!
  • Alcoholic Twist: Yup, we’re going there. For an adult version, you can add a splash of rum, vodka, or another spirit of your choice. Please, consume responsibly and only by people of legal drinking age.
  • Protein Powder: For a more filling and protein-packed slushie, you can add a scoop of your favorite protein powder. I recommend vanilla protein as that flavor is already part of the recipe.

Storage

I can’t imagine you having leftovers of this glorious “beat the heat” drink, but if you do, no worries….you can Freeze It!

Do Does Sweet Apple Slushie freeze well? Yes

Can you refreeze Sweet Apple Slushie? Yes

Refrigerate: This will only last in the fridge for about 60 minutes – just enough to keep it cold for your guests. It’s best enjoyed immediately.

Freeze: Yes! That is, if you have any leftovers. It works best if you freeze the slushie in an airtight container without toppings. Although, if you plan on consuming it within 24 hours, you can leave the toppings on.
