Our Blueberry Cobbler is a classic and comforting treat, perfect for enjoying during special occasions….and definitely topped with vanilla ice cream!

How to Make Easy Blueberry Cobbler
A detailed recipe with full quantities can be found in the recipe card at the bottom of this page.
Step 1: Start by preheating your oven to 175Ā°C (350Ā°F) or 160Ā°C (325Ā°F) fan/convection. Spray the 9×9 baking pan with non-stick ingredient of choice. (We accidentally used a 12×9 in the video…don’t do that! It’ll still taste great but it won’t look proper.) Prep the remaining ingredients.

Step 2: Add the dry ingredients (flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar) in bowl and then mix thoroughly.

Step 3: Add your wet ingredients (milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract) to the dry batter ingredients in the bowl. Stir until well combined.

Step 4: Pour your batter into the 9×9 baking pan. Drop blueberries into batter and sprinkle (or pour, the more the merrier!) your granulated sugar evenly over blueberries. The bigger the grains the better!

Step 5: Bake on the middle oven rack uncovered for 45 minutes to 1 hour, until the top is a light golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.

Step 6: Remove from oven, let cool for 10-15 minutes, then plate and top with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Enjoy!

Tweaks
Looking for inspiration to make a few tweaks? Check these out!
- Citrus Zest: Mix the zest of one lemon or orange with the blueberries for a hint of citrus brightness. This will complement the sweetness of your blueberries.
- Spices: Consider stirring in a pinch of ground cinnamon or nutmeg to the blueberries prior to adding them in your batter. These spices can add depth and warmth to the flavor profile.
- Almond Extract: For a subtle nutty flavor, you can replace a portion of the vanilla extract with almond extract in the batter.
- Crispier Topping: For a crispier topping, you can reduce the amount of milk in the batter slightly. This will result in a crisper texture on top.
Storage
Couldn’t finish it all? That’s okay, we’re pros at the storage bit:
Refrigerate: Your blueberry cobbler will last 3 to 5 days in the fridge once cooked.
Freeze: You can freeze blueberry cobbler for around three months before it will begin to lose elements of flavor and texture. Full instructions here.
Reheat: The best way to defrost your blueberry cobbler is to bake it directly from frozen….if you haven’t baked it yet. Since you likely already baked yours, take it out of the freezer the night before and place it in your refrigerator. You can transfer the chilled cobbler onto a baking-safe dish and cook in the oven for 7-10 minutes at 175Ā°C / 350Ā°F. This helps restore some of the texture lost after freezing.
