Keep Airtight
Air getting to your crumpets will dry them out, ruining their texture. Instead, make sure you keep them wrapped and airtight.
Serve Toasted
There will be some minor changes to the texture when they’re frozen. By toasting them, you’ll hide some of these textural changes easily.
Freeze Individually
By keeping them frozen as individual crumpets, they won’t stick together and you can then easily grab one, two or three crumpets at a time.
How Long Can You Freeze Crumpets?
Crumpets have a similar shelf life to other baked and bread goods so you should only keep crumpets in the freezer for between four and six months. After this, they may start to degrade and lose their firm texture and delightful taste.
Once opened, store them in an airtight container or good-quality resealable bag and keep them in the fridge for 2 to 3 days.
