How to Freeze Boiled Eggs

If you want to freeze your boiled eggs, you will need to peel them and remove the yolk from the inside. The egg whites go rubbery when frozen, so eating them fresh or discard them before freezing is best.

Hereā€™s how you can freeze the yolks of your boiled eggs.

  1. Allow to Cool: After boiling your eggs, you will need to leave them to cool before peeling and freezing them. You should never put warm boiled eggs directly in the fridge or freezer.
  2. Peel: Crack the outer shell of your boiled egg and peel the shell off. Once youā€™re left with your whites, rinse them under the tap to remove any small pieces of shell clinging to their outer layer.
  3. Scoop out Yolk: Carefully split your egg whites with a knife and scoop out the yolks.
  4. Place in a Freezer Bag: Place your egg yolks into a freezer-safe bag. Itā€™s fine to freeze them together.
  5. Label and Freeze: Write the date you boiled your eggs, as well as their use by date, on the front of the freezer-safe bags. Remember, you can freeze boiled eggs for up to 3 months.Ā
